The Society of Arts and Crafts
CRAFTBOSTON is produced by The
Society of Arts and Crafts. The Society of Arts and
Crafts, a non profit organization, has been at the forefront of the American craft movement, fostering
the development, sales, recognition and education of crafts for over one
hundred years. Our highly-committed founders developed standards of
excellence in design and technical mastery for crafts that inspired the
American Arts and Crafts Movement.
CRAFTBOSTON takes place at the Seaport World Trade Center in South Boston. Annually during the last weekend of March, the show is the premiere New England exhibition and sale of
contemporary art, craft and design. The show features 175 of the most outstanding artists
of our time, showcasing one-of-a-kind and limited-edition pieces in
baskets, ceramics, decorative fiber, wearables, furniture, glass, jewelry,
leather, metal, mixed media, paper and wood. Additionally, CRAFTBOSTON
features work by emerging artists from leading schools and universities,
an artist mentor program, a book seller, an educational lecture series, tours for guests who are blind and
visually impaired and other special interest groups, and informational
booths promoting non-profit craft organizations.
